Modupe Eyo

Co-Owner

Modupe Eyo is a motivated and resourceful educator with over twenty years of experience working with children. After obtaining a law degree in her native Nigeria, she transitioned into the education sector, focusing on reading intervention. Modupe is trained in several reading techniques, including SpellRead, LindaMood-Bell (Visualize Verbalize), and the Orton-Gillingham Approach, and she is a firm believer in SpellRead as the best of these methods.  In 2021, Modupe partnered with Jose Romero to purchase SpellRead Education Services.  A life-long learner, she is passionate about building relationships and inspiring every student she encounters. In her spare time, Modupe enjoys hanging out with family and friends, binge reading, spending time with her dog Bloo, and being out in nature.​

Jose Romero ​

Jose C. Romero is a managing partner and has been working with the SpellRead program since 2001. He advanced from private instructor to instructional coach and trainer, providing SpellRead professional development globally and training in both schools and private institutions. Additionally, he consults for Saddleback Educational Publishing. Jose holds a B.Sc. in Marketing and Finance from the University of Maryland College Park. Residing in Laurel, MD, he enjoys cooking, learning languages and history, and taking long walks, a passion he shares with his beloved partner, Jackie.​
